Hannah’s Hope House
Our Vision
At Living In Freedom Ministries, the biggest priority we have is a Reentry Home. The Lord gave Tonya a vision a few years ago to have a home named “Hannah’s Hope” from the passage in 1 Samuel. Hannah was unwavering in her hope of what the Lord had for her despite others coming against her and what seemed like impossible circumstances. She believed God’s promise to her no matter what and He gave her the desires of her heart. We believe this promise for the ladies we serve. That no matter what the charges are, no matter what the courts say, no matter what their past, there is a new hope waiting for them in Christ. If they surrender fully to Him, just as Hannah did, God will do the impossible. Most of the ladies we minister to Behind the Walls do not have a healthy environment to return home to. Our vision is to establish a Christ-centered reentry home where women can find a safe and supportive place to heal and rebuild their lives after incarceration. We desire to create an environment where women are not only welcomed with love and grace, but are also equipped with the tools, discipleship, and community needed to walk in lasting freedom. Our heart is to provide a home where women can encounter Jesus, grow in their identity and purpose, and be empowered to break generational cycles of addiction and trauma. Through mentorship, accountability, and genuine relationships, we believe lives can be transformed and generations changed for the Kingdom of God.
Our prayer is for women to have a safe place
Our desire is to create a program where women newly-released are surrounded by mentors, biblical teaching, encouragement, and practical support as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and learn to walk in lasting freedom. We want to continue walking alongside the ladies while helping them get back on their feet, providing them with practical connections for a job, car, and later on housing. Through discipleship and community, we hope to help newly released women discover a renewed identity in Christ.
The need for a home in the Knoxville area
There is a great need in the Knoxville area for more Christ-centered, Bible-based reentry homes for women coming out of incarceration and addiction. With a growing drug use epidemic in East Tennessee, it is imperative that we respond head on to this need in our community. We are praying for property to build on or a home already established
